Missions and outreach

“All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.

Watersprings Missions and Outreach is a part of how we as a church “love out”. Jesus commanded His disciples in Matthew 28:18-20 to go out into all the world and make disciples of all nations. This is the great commission . While not everyone is able to pack up all of their bags and move into a foreign nation, we are all called to be a part of the Great Commission. You can be a part of the Great Commission whether that’s locally, regionally, or globally. Some people give, others pray, some of us desire and are called to go, and some participate in all three!
Loving Out can be split into two dynamics: Missions and Outreach.

MISSIONS

Missions are where we team up with a local church or plant a church. We preach the gospel, evangelize the lost, make disciples who trust and follow Jesus, and turn them loose to repeat this process in their community. Think of it as disciples making disciples. Missions are Gospel centered and are focused on the Great Commission and Acts 2:42.

Outreach

Outreaches are where we come together and use our gifts and talents to bless others. We do this in a way that gives glory to God and impacts others to do the same. (See Matthew 5:14-16) Outreaches can be a good way to influence your community and show the Love of Christ. Work projects, food drives, fundraisers, or volunteering at local shelters and community centers are great ways to invite your church to be a light in your community by serving others.
